My Journal

So I'm actually done now and graduated. There's a lot I could say, but I think most people have said it already (and said it better).

Overall, I'm really glad to be a completely unencumbered life at the moment.

I am going to turn in the last paper of my undergraduate career.

This feels amazing.

I'm on page 6 out of 8, with 4.5 hours until my deadline.

Not so bad for having to teach myself about French immigration policy overnight and not getting any sleep.

My last final/paper in my undergraduate career is going to be a solid one =D

So... it's 4 a.m. and I'm realizing that my current essay research strategy isn't working, as it's just making me second-guess my current working thesis.

I'm going to change this paper's strategy up.

I couldn't figure this out sooner, naturally.

I've been listening to like three bands/artists during this entire finals period, depending on my needs.

Studying/reading- Buena Vista Social Club

Outlining/Revising- Regina Spektor, Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen

Writing- nothing at all... yuck.

and my favorite- Breaks: Fergie- Clumsy, Justin Timberlake- Summer Love, Ciara- Promise... ah, how I love study breaks.

Oh it's definitely time for a Rockstar energy drink.

Finals get a resounding TWO THUMBS DOWN.

If finals were a person, I'd hit them in the face.

So I just finished watching the rerun of today's Oprah, which was all about motherhood and how mothers shaped different celebrities' lives. Naturally, I got sentimental because I'm a big old sap. I started thinking about my mother and how she is an AWESOME human being, that I'm so blessed to have her and how she makes me excited to be a mother someday. And then....

Rocky IV comes on as ABC's late night movie. And I thought of my dad, and I laughed out loud.

I love my roommate but damn!

I'm so pumped about convocation. I mean, we don't have a speaker and it's going to be hot... but it's the only time that my friends and i will all be in our gowns together.

A speech from Mr/Mrs X, some pictures around campus and some sombreros at Chevy's should make for a good day.

P.S. My mom sent me an email reminding me that I should drink lots of water b/c it's getting hot, haha. I miss my mom =D

Today is my last day of school in the near future. I have one last lecture and a final (which I'm not too worried about).
